Side brushes that can be swung out as well as dual suction channels and intuitive controls clean corners. The 8.5 cm height lets it fit under low furniture, while front cameras and infrared sensors assist it navigate obstacles and thresholds with ease.
The Scout RX3 impressed us in our tests on how well it cleaned baking powder around baseboards and corners. Its suction of 2,500 Pa was less powerful than other robots, but it was able to move quickly and was quiet. It didn't mop however and its cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and could not deal with dried-on dirt.
Its app isn't equipped with advanced features, such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa however, its voice controls aren't particularly clear or responsive. And it's also a little difficult when it comes to returning to the charging station following running -- other robots can trace a previous path or sensibly follow a wall until they reach their destination however, the RX3 just bumbles about until it gives up and sends a failure message to your phone.
We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, such as its mapping feature as well as digital stay-out zones. While it did a decent job of keeping away from our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be caught by cables and socks, and was unable to handle the tassels that adorn rugs. We didn't include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth considering as an alternative to the traditional uprights.
